The band Nothing for Free has some great things in store for us in 2023!

20 years of longevity is worth celebrating! For this occasion, the French punk rock band Nothing for Free is busy preparing a new EP and a tour for 2023. Find out more in our new interview!

Hi, Nothing For Free! Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions! Can you introduce your band to our readers?

We are a punk rock band from Nord-Pas-de-Calais created in 2033 on the ashes of didn't, blending energetic riffs and melodic vocals.

You're about to celebrate your 20th anniversary. What's the magic recipe for such longevity?

Love and rum.

You're in the midst of preparing a new EP and a tour for next year. Can we know more about it?

The EP will be composed entirely of new tracks written this year with the new lineup, even more energetic, more refined, and above all, more melodic.

A tour is being prepared for 2023, we are currently booking. We are open to all date proposals throughout France / Belgium.

You have also unveiled your new track, "By the Window". What's the story behind this song?

By the Window was already released 10 years ago, but we have reworked and rearranged it with the new lineup. Indeed, a lead singer Max, a long-time friend, has recently joined us.

Tell us about the music video.

The video is in our image, simple and effective. We wanted to capture the moment during rehearsal, it resembles us and conveys the energy we also release on stage.

How would you describe your usual composition process?

Most of the time, the guitarists propose riffs and song structures to us, which we then rework during rehearsals to add everyone's ideas.

Let's talk about merch. Is there any item (merch, pressing, stage equipment) that you consider particularly important? If so, which one?

We have just renewed our merch with Distrolution (backdrop, t-shirt, bass drum head) and we're delighted. We're considering making slippers for a quirky touch, an idea we've had for a long time!
