Hi Rush on Mars! Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions! Can you introduce your band to our readers?

Hi, it's a pleasure to answer you today. We are a band from the North, consisting of four friends who went to the same high school. The planets first aligned with the bassist (Thomas) and the guitarist (Dimitri), who had a first formation together, which would later become Rush On Mars with the addition of the drummer (Arthur) and the singer/guitarist/trumpeter (Nathan). "R.O.M." has now been in existence for two years.

Rush On Mars, or "se précipiter sur Mars" in French, is a reference to the main theme that is beginning to be established throughout our songs. Indeed, this reference echoes the fact that Man tirelessly seeks to not keep his feet on the ground, both literally and figuratively.

The goal of our first EP is to point out various problems that we can experience in daily life and that would push Mankind (including us) to flee the Earth: anxiety/social climate, the destruction of our planet that we are experiencing, industrialization, war, etc... To end with the departure of a Martian colonization ship.

The follow-up to this EP should be exploration, creation of a universe and lore around the journey to and on Mars. But we shouldn't reveal too much!

What are your main influences?

We have very broad influences in metal/rock. To name a few: Iron Maiden, Pogo Car Crash Control, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine, AC/DC, Avenged Sevenfold, Greta Van Fleet, Mass Hysteria, Nirvana, Ocean Grove, Gojira, Metallica and many others... But also in other musical styles!

Your EP "Way Out" was released on February 17, 2023. How long did you work on this EP?

We've been working on it since our beginnings. It's a long-term project, given that it's a self-produced EP. Some compositions date back more than two years, but are still in the era of the time. Our first studio recording dates back to January 2021.

How does your writing process usually unfold?

Often, one of us has a more or less constructed idea that we then work on and arrange together. Each member participates more or less in the composition, and the writing of the lyrics is organized by those who have the inspiration. It's truly a collective project. It's more difficult than if one or two people had the "lead" but much richer and more unifying.

Let's talk about the EP's artwork. What does it represent and which artist is behind this visual?

It's an artist named Chez_Nanart, who did an incredible job on this artwork.

It represents a man in an alley, a shadow lost in his imaginary world, like a defense mechanism to escape the problems of Earth. His walk towards the starry sky symbolizes the escape to an unreachable space. We can't identify this silhouette, it could be any one of us.

This EP is available on all streaming platforms but also in CD format with a cardboard sleeve. Where can your fans get the EP?

They can get it on bandcamp "Rush on Mars" but especially at each of our concerts!

Thank you for your answers!
